the Stables
The oak stable door opens onto the hallway. A cubbyhole, originally used for lanterns, has been preserved and provides a handy place for keys.
Complimentary slippers are provided for your comfort indoors. There is an understairs cupboard with plenty of room for suitcases and large bags.
To the right of the hallway is the luxurious oak-floored bedroom with super-king-sized bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and pillowcases, large fitted wardrobes and the original feature stable wall with hayrack. There are thick cotton lined curtains and a full-length mirror.
Bedside tables and a dresser, with vanity mirror and stool, provide drawer space and there are adjustable reading lamps for your comfort. There is a luggage stand and hairdryer for your use.
Across the hallway is a spacious and stylish bathroom with under floor heating, as well as heated towel rail, and white fluffy cotton towels, flannels and bathmats.
The walk-in shower has taps outside, to put you in complete control before you step in, and a modern cubbyhole for your toiletries.
The free-standing Farrow and Ball painted Cara bath has a stool alongside for your toiletries, cup of tea or glass of wine. The mirror has LED lights and de-mister pad. It also has a socket for shaver or electric toothbrush.

the Hayloft
The open plan hayloft is reached via the oak and glass stairway. The light switches at the top of the stairs allow you to phase lighting across the room and outside on the balcony. The bifold doors have both fine linen and thick lined cotton curtains for you to stay cool on hot sunny days and cosy and warm on wintry days and nights, and the Velux windows have blinds for optimum TV viewing.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a larder fridge-freezer, microwave, electric oven and hob with glass splash back, dishwasher, wine chiller, topped in white granite and with floor level lights. We welcome you on arrival with a bottle of champagne in the wine cooler, as well as a locally sourced breakfast hamper. This includes bread, organic free range eggs, milk, butter, muesli, biscuits, nuts, local honey and jam for breakfast. You will also find tea (loose and bags), coffee (filter and Nespresso), olive oil, vinegar and salt and pepper. You are welcome to use herbs from the garden for cooking.
Alongside the kitchen is the dining table with leather high backed dining chairs. This table, the side console table and coffee table have all been crafted from the original stable and hayloft oak and elm doors and door frames.
At the other end of the hayloft is a large Italian sofa and armchair. In the corner there is a traditional Wildwood log burner, set ready for lighting. Baskets of logs and kindling are provided for your use.
On the end wall there is a flat screen Sony smart TV with Netflix and sound bar. To stream your own music via Bluetooth, there is a portable Bose mini player on the side table. The Stables has its own dedicated 4G Wifi hub, ideal for multiple device streaming.
The six metre long glass and oak balcony has comfortable deck armchairs and is accessed through fully opening oak bifold doors.
It overlooks the duck pond and fields beyond and, as it’s south facing, it’s great for sky watching too, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The laundry room is at the rear of the building, in the old piggery. Here you will find a washing machine, tumble dryer, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.
It’s also a safe place to lock away bicycles and other outdoor equipment. There is a yoga mat, picnic hamper and picnic rug for your use too.
You will find a small patio area and your own private parking space beside the front door.
The Stable and Hayloft is next door to our home at The Hop Kilns. Our whole property consists of about 1.4 acres. You are very welcome to relax in the garden and paddock and enjoy the duck ponds and wildlife.
